When one of the leading Croatia based fruit juice producers decided to create a line of Disney juices for the youngest target market, they turned to us to design a child friendly packaging. Maraska wanted packaging that would be appealing to children aged 3 to 8 years. The company acquired the Disney franchise for the Pixar movies; Cars, Zootropolis and Frozen. Our designers begun by creating attributes that each sample theme (movie) conveyed. In this project we had to closely follow Disney's strict branding rules for each of the three movies and the associated characters while creating the packaging design. It was mandatory to find a way of separating graphically all the Disney content (mainly characters, and logos…etc) from all the other content, as fruit pictures, the Maraskas logo, background, the product name… Disney characters must be kept in their own world/environment without mixing them into anything from the "real world", or objects from it, such as real fruit. We also had to avoid positioning the characters into situations which would bring them into contact with the product, such as standing on, pointing at, or looking at the products, or fruits behind, or have any contact with them at all. The result was a packaging design with a great Disney brand experience. The Maraskas Disney character juice is a clear stand-out from all the noise on the shelf of the regional market. We are confident that this product will appeal to children because of a cool look and great taste.
