Brand Identity of an Iconic Hotel

Opened in Croatia, Slavonia in 1961 as an exquisite hotel, Hotel Park has built up an outstanding reputation in the hospitality industry and became an iconic landmark and a center of social life of the city. The recent renovation has turned this historic building into the largest and most luxurious hotel in the center of the city with over 60 rooms, 4 congress halls, a restaurant, a wine bar and many more facilities. Adapted to a modern architectural style the renovation maintains the recognizable elements such as the front facade of Hotel Park.

The client’s ambition in terms of branding is simple - to develop an authentic and timeless hospitality brand that will retain its initial vividness and the enduring charm of the original Park hotel. Complying with the client’s desire to emphasize its history and tradition in the new brand identity, Shift’s design for the Hotel Park blends tradition with modernism. Our inspiration for the design of the logo came from the originally designed old hotel building – at the time an example of modern architecture which was ahead of its time.

The final result is a timeless and distinctive logo that combines the name of the hotel and a symbol which follows the contours of the building. The simplicity of the logo allows its application at a variety of touch points with the guests. We also created a brand book which defines the core brand elements, both verbal and visual, into a cohesive story, including the signage, stationery and interior graphics.
